Martin Sustainable®, an organization for the common good, is the parent company of The Environmentalist Magazine and Martin Sustainable Books.

Martin Sustainable Books®, the book imprint of Martin Sustainable, has the mandate to operate in a sustainable way while focusing on topics of commercial interest as well as on those that preserve and sustain knowledge. This includes history and historical novels, memoirs, sustainable practices, uncensored science, in addition to literary and commercial fiction and nonfiction.

Writers include the award-winning Environmentalist Managing Editor, a Tony® nominated Broadway Playwright and Emmy® winning screenwriter, the Founder of the Humanitarian Media Association, educational specialist and founder of my-eCoach, producer of the Sundance Award Winning film, FUEL, and others.

Martin Sustainable's annual literary contest opens Martin Sustainable Books and The Environmentalist for writers to submit their work directly to a panel of judges with the grand prize a publishing agreement with Martin Sustainable.

Martin Sustainable Books does not accept unsolicited or non-agented submissions outside of the contest (submissions policy).

The Environmentalist, a public interest magazine, was founded in 2006 as a forum for unfiltered information after editing of scientists' papers by an oil lobbyist to redact climate data was made public.

All writers and staff on The Environmentalist donate their time. The magazine media partners with the The Huffington Post's Green page and supports nonprofit entities such as the Organic Consumers Association, among others.
